2 Stars Not what I needed
I thought that this would have names and addresses to obtain scholarships but it only tells a student how to prepare to get a scholarship. It is geared for the senior in high school. It really doesn’t benefit anyone who is already in college.
5 Stars Excellent book!
This book is totally excellent! I enjoyed her writing style as well as her story. It really inspired me to prepare for college and the scholarship process. As a high school junior, I am glad my mom bought the book. It is easy to read and gets straight to the point. I HIGHLY recommend this book to every high school student.
1 Star Very disappointing
This book has very little useful information. It is more along the lines of the handouts one would get at high school college night, than an actual book about getting scholarships. It is a waste of money to buy this book.

Colleges of Distinction

Today’s high school senior is faced with a college search that is pressure-filled and highly commercial in nature. A world of publications exists just to offer rankings for colleges, identifying so-called “top” schools.
Colleges of Distinction is a college guide with a unique approach. Instead of looking for the richest or the most famous schools, selected schools exhibit the four distinctions that make a college truly great: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities, and successful outcomes. These schools are not ranked, because every student has a different “number one college” based on their own individual needs and interests.
Colleges of Distinction is a complete guide for students entering college, and contains a wealth of information and hands-on materials to help students find their perfect college fit, including quizzes, checklists, college listings by region, and two-page comprehensive college profiles.
About Colleges of Distinction
Colleges of Distinction is the result of a group of concerned parents, educators and admissions professionals’ goal to improve the current state of the college admissions process by providing consumers with the best possible information about higher education.

5 Stars Wonderful and useful guidebook!
Alma College is very pleased to be recognized for those institutional qualities that matter most, such as quality of teaching, the kinds of experiences available to students, and how well students do after they graduate. This is the kind of information families and prospective students should most seek in considering which college is right for them.
5 Stars Great Book!
We are very pleased that Eastern Connecticut State University has been chosen to be included in `Colleges of Distinction.’ As Connecticut’s public liberal arts university, Eastern seeks to attract outstanding students and faculty who are dedicated to intellectual discovery and engaged learning. Being recognized by `Colleges of Distinction’ is not only a great honor, but also an indicator that we are on the right path to becoming a university of first choice. - Elsa N
